04:19 pmI feel like I should update just for the heck of it so here I am. I pitched a story at my staff meeting today about a feature on tattoo parlors. My editors seemed to like it so I hope I can get a hold of the local tattoo artists in town and spend a day with them or something. That'd be cool. One thing I love about my job is being able to do a story like this--where I get to be physically at the location and see things face to face. So far, I've gotten to go to Mississippi and work in hurricane relief efforts, job shadowed a hospital physican (and I felt like I was in ER or something), gone out to a farm and hung out with horses...stuff like that. I'm about to make my first payment to Odyssey this week. Why can't I even admit it to myself that I am actually going? It's like if I do this it's a big fat yes and it will be real and I can't back out now. I don't think I would anyway, but I guess I need to make that first step. I went shoe shopping this weekend and bought three pairs of shoes at Payless for like $20. I love sales. I also ordered shoes for my bridesmaid dress from the Payless website. Their shoes are getting really cute. I'm going to be 25 in two months. I really, really want to go to the 30 Seconds to Mars concert in two weeks, but I might have to go cover a meeting for work. I hope I get to go! I missed out on them at the Audioslave concert last fall. This is my second chance! I really love the characters in my book esp. when they give me these kind of lines: "Welcome to London, where the only difference is the vampires have accents." "You've obviously never been to Brooklyn." Hee! Hmm...I think I'll have chicken tenders for dinner. Then, it's new Lost and VM! Oh, yeah. New layout and new icon alert :) |
